TfL starting speed limiter trials on London bus routes
Transport for London is to start ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaptation) trials on London bus routes with the help of Buchanan Computing and Buchanan Order Management
Transport for London is to commence ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaptation) trials on London bus routes using the Digital Speed Limit Map of London maintained and updated by Buchanan Computing and Buchanan Order Management.
Buses are already fitted with GPS to monitor their exact location on London’s streets. Under the trial this information will be cross-referenced with speed limit data on every section of road, with feedback to the vehicle automatically setting the on-board speed limiter to the appropriate speed.
The development was reported by the Standard on 28 June 2015. Click this link to read the full story on the Standard website.
